As Georgia's 17th largest school system, the Douglas County School System is a beacon of academic excellence, serving over 26,000 students. Established in 1871, the school system includes 34 schools and many specialty programs, including an International Baccalaureate program, a robust Advanced Placement program, a College and Career Institute, a Special Education Preschool, and magnet programs at all five high schools.
